News from the week of Mar. 1
Quarter 3 Week 6
A note from Mrs. Chern…
It has been a crazy track in but I think we are finally getting back
on track. I did love the snow. Hope you did too. There are a lot of
upcoming events this next week. Please be sure you are checking the
Brassfield website, DOJO, and marking the dates below so you don’t
miss anything. Interims will be going home on Wednesday. Please be on
the look out for them in our new GREEN Wednesday folders.

Upcoming Week’s Standards…
Reading: Comparing fiction and non-fiction on the same topic,
identifying the reasons why an author writes about a topic.
Writing: Choosing our own topic, researching and writing our own All
About book digitally or on paper, student choice.
Spelling: Unit 21
Math: 10 more, 10 less, 1 more, l less automatically
Social Studies: Finishing our Performance Task (the kids are in LOVE
with this project). Starting Science unit on Earth’s Systems,
Structures and Processes.

I will be putting some double digit math word problems in your child’s
folder. We have been working on using 10 sticks and ones and/or
number lines to solve these. The strategy they use is their choice.
