Spelling Words...

This year your child will continue to using Letterland. Now that your child has learned consonant and vowel sounds we will blend them together to learn spelling patterns in one syllable words as well as tricky words that must be memorized. I will post the tricky words as well as a description of the spelling pattern we are studying. The tricky words are ones that do not follow a rule so those must be memorized. The others follow spelling rules and a pattern. Your child will benefit more from learning the patterns instead of just memorizing words for the week. Check out the videos tab for more information about the 7 syllable types your child will learn this year.

**If your child gets less than an 80% on their weekly spelling check (test) please have them click the "here" links for that particular week to continue practicing. If there isn't a link posted go to the "Links for Student's" tab and find Spelling City and how to log in.
