A note from Mrs. Chern…. Our switch in using DOJOS for the classroom and Pawsitive Paws for all other school settings seems to be catching on. We got to shop in the WooHoo Wagon today. Very exciting!! PowerSchools is working better now so I will work on populating interims. They will go home next Wednesday in the Wednesday Folder. Mclass is finally back up so I can finish reading assessments and begin reading groups. NKT will begin next week and I will be assessing your child’s math concepts.
Upcoming Week’s Standards…
Reading: Continue reading assessments,
Writing: Conventions Checklist: proper letter formation, ZOOMING IN to write a narrative, using our continua and conventions checklist to write independently
Spelling: Unit 7
Math: Addition and Subtraction Strategies (number lines, 10 frames, doubles, doubles +1 )
Science: What are magnets? Can we move objects without touching them?
… There is a passage again with two questions. Please remember to practice reading the passage every night to improve fluency. Math consists of two sheets to practice doubles and number lines. Doubles is adding the same number to itself. On the dice count the dots and add that number to itself to get the double. We are working on rewriting math problems to make solving them easier. THey should do this with the number line. They should rewrite the problem starting with the bigger number and jump the smaller number.
