notebook icon.jpgA note from Mrs. Chern…. Report Cards will go home next week sometime. I am still
having a difficult time getting grades to populate and comments to show. Our field trip was a
blast. We got to do some learning about how different countries around the world celebrate
special holidays. We will story more of this ½ way through 2nd quarter. Next week we will get
to see Pete The Cat on Thursday. We have read tons of Pete the Cat books so it will be amazing
to see it come to life. Student Led Conference sign up’s will be coming home as well. They will
be during the week of Oct. 15th.
notebook icon.jpgUpcoming Week’s Standards…
Reading: Fiction retelling (characters, setting, events) and how illustrations help tell a story
Writing: Choosing an idea, writing an opinion, choosing strong reasons, and adding closure
Spelling: Unit 11
Math:  Reviewing using place value to make double digit numbers, comparing double digit
numbers
Science: The features of the moon, patterns of the moon, does the moon move?

There is a passage again with two questions. Please remember to practice
reading the passage every night to improve fluency. The children will practice comparing

if your child is struggling and you need more information about this.
